The AHSF Junior/U25 Scholarship

The AHSF Junior/U25 Scholarship Fund was established to support young equestrians and breeders 25 years of age or under who are dedicated to the development of Hanoverian or Rhineland horses. This scholarship provides financial assistance to rising stars in equestrian sport and breeding for educational endeavors, such as training, workshops, seminars, and conferences. The fund supports individuals who are passionate about enhancing their knowledge and skills in the breeding, care, and performance of Hanoverian and Rhineland horses, helping them progress in their careers and contribute to the growth of the Hanoverian and Rhineland horse breeds.

Objectives:

The scholarship fund’s goal is to foster the development of the next generation of equestrians, breeders, and trainers. It seeks to provide promising young individuals with the financial resources necessary to achieve success in their equestrian careers, focusing on educational growth. The scholarship aims to support those dedicated to promoting the quality and potential of Hanoverian and Rhineland horses through educational initiatives that further their expertise in breeding, training, and horsemanship.

Scholarship Recipient Responsibilities:

AHS Foundation scholarship recipients play an important role in advancing the mission of our programs -not only through their participation, but also by serving as visible ambassadors for the sport horse community. As such, recipients agree to the following responsibilities:

  • Share a post-experience report within 60 days of completing their funded activity. This report should include a short narrative (500–750 words) detailing what they learned or accomplished, along with high-quality photos/media from the experience. These may be used in newsletters, social media, and other Foundation communications to inspire future applicants and supporters.
  • Participate in a recipient spotlight, which may include a live or recorded interview, podcast episode, video feature, or event panel. The goal is to highlight how the scholarship supported their development, what they took away from the experience, and how others might benefit from applying.
  • Contribute to future outreach efforts, such as serving as a peer mentor for incoming recipients, helping to host informational webinars, or providing occasional updates on their ongoing equestrian or breeding journey. Consider joining the AHS Foundation Scholarship Committee as an active committee member and future contributor to the growth in Foundation programming.
  • Acknowledge the Foundation’s support in relevant public-facing content—such as competition programs, social media posts, or professional bios—when the scholarship experience directly contributed to their progress or achievements.
  • Communicate proactively with the Foundation, if they are unable to complete the educational activity as planned. Unused or revoked funds may not be reimbursed.

Additional Information:

  • The selection committee’s decisions are confidential, final, and binding.
  • If no applicants meet the scholarship criteria, the committee reserves the right to not award the scholarship for that cycle.
